Gender Media Awards
TBILISI. 22 July 2008 – Rusudan Loladze of the Georgian Public Broadcasting, Jumsher Rekhviashvili of Radio Liberty, and Eka Gulua of the Rezonance daily received awards today for the best gender-related media works in 2007. Media competition was organized by the Gender and Politics project jointly implemented by UNDP and the Parliament of Georgia with financial support from Sida. "UNDP is pleased to support Georgian media in its interest to promote gender equality as one of the most important human development issues,” said Matilda Dimovska, UNDP Assistant Resident Representative, speaking in the Two-Side Club where she awarded the winners together with the Georgian Parliament Vice Speaker Rusudan Kervalishvili. The competition has a two-year tradition and attracts the increased attention in Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia. Last December, UNDP organized the similar competition for business companies.
