Small hydropower resources at the community level


Description

The project promotes sustainable management of natural resources in Georgia and encourages the use of small hydropower resources. To achieve this goal, the project works with local communities in the selected regions to rehabilitate and/or construct community-owned small hydropower plants.

The pilot projects are implemented at the three sites:

  1. Baghdati region – rehabilitation of the Khani HPP (capacity 300 kW);
  2. Telavi region – construction of the Pshaveli HPP (capacity 500 kW); and
  3. Oni region - construction of the Chiora HPP (capacity 45 kW).
