National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Georgia
Description
The project was implemented under the larger initiative: Capacity Building Fund, which aims to support reforms in the public sector of Georgia.
The project supports the establishment of an inclusive and functional national platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Georgia. The initiative works in two main areas:
1. Enhances the institutional capacity of the Georgian National Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction & Environment Sustainable Development (NCDRR), and
2. Promotes the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015 in Georgia.
The project activities include:

Assistance to the Georgian National Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction through training in strategic planning, project management, and fundraising;

Strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration and information sharing on DRR by exchanging experience with other platforms and developing an interactive web portal on DRR;

Promoting Disaster Risk Reduction in Georgia by organizing external events and national conferences discuss implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015 and to draft participatory risk management action plans.
