GEORGIA. October 2009 - UNDP immediately responded to the crisis caused by the armed conflict between Georgia and Russia in August 2008.

UNDP worked to repair damaged infrastructure, provide re-training and short term employment to those left jobless by the conflict, and to assist the displaced in starting up agriculture business.

UNDP used 4.4 million Euro from European Union and USD 1.2 million of its own funds
